SEC and Big 12 College Baseball Showdown

The Saturday after the week from hell, the Rangers stadium hosted the SEC/Big 12 College Baseball Showdown.  We had purchased a weekend pass before the snow came and had been very much looking forward to it.  The storm pushed the games back from Fri-Sun to Sat-Mon.  So, we were only able to make it for the Saturday and Sunday games but were still very excited.

We were even happier to have sunshine in the 70s and leave out house!
It's the small things in life.

The teams were Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miss State vs. Texas, TCU, and Texas Tech.
All six of those baseball teams were in the top 10!!
So much good baseball to watch the weekend before the boys' baseball seasons started.

The seats were all general admission so if you found seats near each other, you could sit with friends.  Several of Brody's teammates had purchased tickets which made it even more fun!

Pierce is a TCU fan so they were enemies Saturday!

We came to realize that Big 12 has hand gestures and SEC has phrases or chants.  Ha.

Ole Miss beat TCU Saturday.
We stayed and watched the Tech v. Arkansas game which was a fun one!
Atmosphere was like a college football game!

Sunday, Ole Miss played Texas Tech.

We also found the famous Boomstick and our entire family ate on that thing.

Paxton and Brody were enemies this day.  They walked around and found Chuck (Rangers announcer) and took a picture infant of him.

And we also found Bryce who is also a Tech fan.
So much fun!

We needed to get home at a decent time Sunday.  We decided to leave our seats and watch the last out by the exit.  It took what felt like forever for Ole Miss to get that last out!  Tech tried to come back and it was exciting (only because we ended up winning.  Ha)

The boys were pumped when it ended.
Ole Miss ended up going 3-0 this weekend and became the #1 baseball team in the country.
We were so happy we were able to watch them play in person and have an enjoyable weekend.
It really was SO MUCH FUN!

We started up our own baseball last week.

We finally had someone come to paint the kitchen cabinets.
The kitchen looked like Dexter had been here....

We also started replacing all those nasty old knobs with these bad boys.

It all came together once I got the cabinet pulls and barstools.

John and I ran out real quick for a date night.
Didn't take a picture of anything but the food.

We brought the leftovers home for Mason and McDonalds for Brody.

We are thankful for baseball friends who get us to practice when we need help!

Brody had a scrimmage last Thursday since our warm up tourney was cancelled.

The carpool crew.

We had our first weekend of baseball.

Both teams went 1-1 on Saturday.
Mason pitched against one of the toughest teams in the tourney and we were soooo close to pulling out a win.  They lost 4-3 but he only gave up 1 earned run.  He has really been hot lately.

Like always, I stay with Brody while John has Mason since he is an assistant coach.  John and Mason got to watch Brody before they played.  Brody and I got to watch Mason once he was done.

This is me with a sunburnt face riding in an Uber since I locked my keys in the car.  Don't ask.  Supposedly its impossible to do, but I did it.

All was well and we made it back for Mason's last game.

Love this picture of John and Mason before he went up to bat.
(He hit a double right after this.)

There he is at second.

Had we wear a hat Sunday.  We were all fried.

Eating hot dogs at 9:15.
We had to leave the house by 6:30 so it was lunchtime by then.

Neither team had the outcome they had hoped but it is sure going to be a fun season!
We have Spring Break next week.
