Thanksgiving Feast

Brody has been tagging along for Mason's hitting lessons to work on batting left handed.  The instructor only asks that you swing hard each time.  Mason has never had this issue but this  kid has to do pushups if he is lazy.  HAHA

Made them wear coats a few days last week.  It got cold!

I also started putting up some decorations.  Not much time between the two holidays, especially since we are traveling!

I had a 12 hr laser certification course last Friday in McKinney.  The sun was coming up going over the bridge and it was gorgeous.

LONG day, but actually very interesting.

And I got to play with pig jaws.....

I know we said baseball was over, but the 10u Dirtbags team needed a couple of subs.  Mason and two of his teammates played for them last weekend.  They went 1-1 in pool play.  It was fun.  Mason got to play several positions.  Here he is playing SS.

I met a former coworker and my best friend at work Saturday night at the coolest restaurant.  Unfortunately, it was because my friend at work is leaving and moving back home.  So sad.

We had an early morning Sunday.  Had to be in McKinney at 7am (it is an hour away).  Weird day of weather too.  Started the morning in the 30's, ended at 80 degrees and sunny.  We got wind burned and then sunburned!

Bribery for the little brothers.

We won the first bracket play game.

And then lost the next one, but it was a great game.  Here is Mason playing short behind his good friend from school pitching. He has been dying to sub for them so he could play with his friend!

He actually made a great play here and got the third out of the inning.

Pretty sure he got hit by the next pitch here.  Ha

He also got to play some third. (he isn't so small playing 10u!)

We got home that afternoon and were all so EXHAUSTED.
We ordered in food, took showers, and watched a movie before a VERY early bedtime for everyone.

I put up some outdoor decor Monday.  Better to do it at 80 degrees than 30, but something doesn't feel right putting Christmas lights up when sweating.

Mason got to represent 4th grade and get their principal with ice cream sundae ingredients.

I couldn't make the big Thanksgiving Feast at school since it was on a Thursday BUT John was able to go.  So thankful!  I asked him to take some pictures for me....especially since this is Mason's last year for it.  =(

Again, so thankful he was able to go but these pictures are just awful!  Lol

The kids love it because the parents all go through the line and eat the feast also.

I mean I really stressed that this was his last Thanksgiving Feast at school.  Haha
You can at least tell who is in the picture....

Poor Mason woke up this morning in the bathroom floor.....at least he took his pillow with him.  His sleep walking is really crazy.  He said his shoulder was a little sore when he woke up.  Well goodness, I bet it was!

Met the other room Moms at our local coffee shop this morning to plan the Christmas party.  Cant believe I haven't been before.  It was lovely!

TCU Football Game

We may be done with baseball but we still hit every Tuesday.

Mason had a little run in with the neighbors dog.  Of course he didn't want to get in trouble or the dog to get in trouble so he said he got a wood chip stuck in his foot.  Well it got worse and worse and when I looked at it Tuesday night, it didn't quite look like a wood chip.  He confessed the neighbors dog bit him when he went to get a ball!  I threw him in the car and took him to the Urgent Care to make sure he didn't need an antibiotic.  I had done nothing to clean the dang thing. Nothing some antibiotic ointment couldn't take care of.  We were given an RX also but I didn't need to fill it.

We woke up Saturday morning with nothing to do.  We realized TCU was playing Baylor at home that morning which was a big game.  Baylor was undefeated.  We grabbed some tickets online and headed to Ft. Worth. We parked at a nearby church and rode the shuttle over because parking is horrendous over there!

We walked around Frog Alley before heading into the game.

The area around TCU is older.  They have the cutest, oldest, (and most expensive) houses over there with beautiful trees.  The leaves were changing and it reminded us of home!

It was chilly that morning but it was super sunny.  I don't care if it is 40 degrees out....the sun is warm and intense at any time of the year.

It was an awesome game to go to.  It went into triple overtime!
Baylor won in the end but it was a blast.

We all got some sun to say the least.

Baseball is over which means no Sunday morning bracket play games.
The boys were happy to get back to church....especially because they had donuts!

We FINALLY had time to pick out a bike for Mason (from Mickey Mouse and Pops) for his birthday that was a MONTH ago.  Ha. Busy busy.

I bought a Christmas tree when they were on sale last year.  I never took it out of the box and I have been dying to see what it looks like!  I took it out Sunday and while it is a bit messy, I LOVE it.  To be honest, since we are traveling for Thanksgiving, we are going to need to decorate before then because there isn't as much time this year between the two holidays.

They give 4th grade so many more responsibilities since they are the oldest in the school.  Mason has done morning announcements a few times, but one of the teachers sent me a picture this week.
Looks like they all have the Moday blues.  Ha.

Halloween 2019 and the End of Fall Ball

It was Red Ribbon Week.  And while this boy didn't want to participate much, as the week went on...it grew on him.  This was crazy/mixmatched day.

I had to work Halloween since it fell on a Thursday.  I made them take pictures and make sure they could get on their costumes by themselves the night before.

And here we have a dino and Joey Gallo.

And John and I both had to dress up.  He went as Bob Ross and I was a deer.
(I went with the easiest thing possible while cleaning teeth!)

One of Mason's sweet teachers sent me pictures of both boys at the Story Book Character Parade.

Mason and his bud Carter.  Haha.

Joey Gallo and Dog Man

Brody was also able to turn in his Star Bucks for a lunch date with his teacher.

Meanwhile, my coworker loves all things Halloween and we had a fun party.

I rushed home after work to get everything ready for our Halloween gathering a couple of doors down.  I made this charcuterie board and a couple of other things.

(Mason had his backup costume on in case in dino deflated....it malfunctioned a bit)

Kids had pizza and nuggets while we had chili.
We love Halloween in our hood!

Sangria....

It was a nice day out but got cold once the sun went down.  Kids were able to play outside before trick or treating.

Running into neighbors and friends.

One of our bunco friends does it big on Halloween.  Her husband had a huge dj booth/disco ball set up playing music.  She was passing out popcorn/hot chocolate from a food truck.  And there is a big fire pit going.  The kids walked up and made themselves at home!

It got cold so the fire helped.  It was a very fun Halloween!

We took Brody's friends to and from school the Friday after Halloween.
Good day for it to be pj day!

And they LOVED playing after school!

Friday night called for our fav Mexican.

Mason had baseball games Saturday night and a birthday party at Top Golf right before.  We dropped him off at the party and went to the W. 7th St. area for lunch.

All the while Mason was having a blast at the party.
He said he wasn't very good at it but he loved it!

A 10 year old's dream.

We left there and headed straight to Downtown Dallas for baseball.
It was another late night of games.

#8 is our guy

The little brothers.

John helped all weekend in the dugout.
They were having a chat before Mason went out to hit.

Playing SS.

We played another game Sunday to end the fall season.  It didn't end on a good note, but they did well.  Best part of the weekend was this kid on 2nd barely running into Mason and my child went FLYING.  This is what happens when you play up sometimes.....especially if you are just a little guy!

Super proud of him this season.

We were able to all head over to Flower Mound to watch Brody's last two games of the season.  They had a great day and played so well.  They won both of their games.  Awesome way to end the fall.

This guy has some good eye hand coordination....he has yet to strike out.  He has done well all season and absolutely LOVES playing.

The fun part is 9 of these guys are in 1st grade and have decided to play on the same basketball team.

Baseball may be over for now but it will be back shortly.
Now onto basketball!
