Busy Bees

The big Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is going on right now.  I had never heard of it but it seems to be a big deal.  I have been working the last couple of weeks and all my patients said we had to check it out.  Shady Grove had Rodeo Day last Friday.  I had one cute cowboy....the other child said no way. 

Mason had been playing after school on Thursday with our neighbor friends.  Evans little sister was taking pictures of the playdate. 

We had a tough game Saturday.  We only had five kids and were playing the best team.  Our kids were all amazing, and we were tied halfway through the 3rd. But we had one foul out and we were exhausted.  I've never been so proud of a team that lost before!

The game was early so we had the afternoon to hang out.  It was in the 60s so we wanted to be outside.  Mason and Brody played down the street with one of Mason's classmates for a while and then we decided to go down to the Trinity River. 

There is a huge park that was beautiful.  Here was the duck pond. 

There are several pedestrian bridges and rocks to walk on.

we worked up an appetite and were near a Mexican restaurant that a patient had recommended.  Ummm it was so good.  You can get family dinners and I have never seen so much food!

Sunday was another pretty day.  It was even warmer than Saturday.  Our church has decided to build a new home.  We are in what used to be a strip mall and really isn't a church.  We LOVE our church and have been so happy there.  We had a groundbreaking ceremony at the new land with food trucks, bounce houses, and a service. 

Mason was pumped there was an In and Out truck....his fav.  

We had to start peeling off our clothes. That sun was hot.

Since my job the past two weeks has started at 6:30am, John has been taking the boys to school.  Of course they planned a donuts with parents event this week.  But thankfully, JB took them.  He said they ditched him after they scarfed their donut down, and he actually got to work early.  Ha. 

Monday night was another Spirit Night.  They love going to these.  Nothing like eating dinner with friends from school.  Brody seems to know every single Kindergartener (and 2st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. ha)  Mason had baseball, so Brody was an only child for this event. 

Brody had to go to Mason's basketball practice with John.  He dribbled the ball and did all the same drills Coach was having the team do button the sideline.  So when it came time to scrimmage at the end of practice, Brody was asked to join.  John said none of the kids were expecting him to play defense like that.  lol

The parade.  Again, I had to work but friends sent me some pictures!

Tonight was Math Night at school.  We went a couple of months ago for Science Night and it was super fun.  The kids from Keller High come and put it on.  For Math tonight, there were ten stations set up.  They had some awesome games for them to play.  I will def start incorporating some of them at home!

A Brower Reunion

Now that it is the 2nd semester, Brody has homework.  He actually likes doing it.  John was out of town so he and I had to take Mason to baseball.  Thankfully, they have this little room with chairs and desks.

Thursday night was a choir performance.  All the school choirss that feed into Keller High performed at the school.  It was a fun little event and neat to see all the schools that will go to Keller.

Mason won a kindest citizenship award at school last week and won free donuts.  They had an awards ceremony in front of the entire school.  (He also got a perfect attendance recognition.)  

His teacher wanted to recognize him because on the first day back from winter break, they got a new student in their class.  It was also the day for the kids to "shop" with their Dojo points they had earned the semester before.  Mason asked the teacher if he could share his Dojo points with the new student since he didn't have any of his own.  She let him and he bought him a couple of toys.  

He is always trying to be so kind to others and has the best heart. 

The other Browers came in town Saturday just in time for Mason's basketball game.  My kids asked every minute how close they were to being at our house. 

We ate Mexican and longed around the rest of the night.  

How happy are these three?!

Instead of exchanging gifts for Christmas, we got the kiddos a one night stay to the Great Wolf Lodge here in town. I had NO idea what to expect, but I did not think it would be this giant. 

We checked in, got our wolf ears, and went down to the water park. 

But not before passing everything on the first floor such as a candy shop, ice cream shop, souvenir shop, a kids spa, and an arcade.  I mean, come on....

We got this picture of these two and then they were gone.  They had a bit more freedom.  We asked them to stay together, but they rode every slide multiple times.  It was hours until we saw them again!  Of course John took off quickly to ride with them and left us with the little ones....ha.

The cool thing about this place was there was plenty for the smaller kids to do as well as the big kids.  

Reese and Mason took everyone on the big slides.  I will say, those slides were pretty crazy and fun.  I definitely wasn't expecting it!

There was a family raft ride, but he was NOT having it.  Crocodile tears and all.  

We had to take the walk of shame and wait for everyone to come down.

They loved this smaller green slide and FINALLY talked Brody into riding it.

We stayed until it closed.  Exhausted is what this picture is.  

We had a great time, but were worn out!

They were starving and so sleepy.

We woke up Monday and decided to eat donuts and play in the arcade before we had to say goodbye. It was a great weekend!

Monday, we lounged around all day.  We ate an early dinner at a new cajun place in town.  It was really good.  The waitress asked about beignets and Brody shouted yes please....

And then got the powdered sugar allll over him.

Great way to end the long weekend.
