Memorial Day Weekend of Baseball

First full day of summer was this last Friday.  This is the first year I will have so much time off with them during the summer.  I have always worked at least 4 days a week and they went to full time camps.  This year I will work only two days a week and have three days with them.  We have hired a nanny for the two days so they can still have tons of fun around Keller.

We went to the pool Friday and ran into four 3rd grade boys by the end of the day.  I love that we have so many friends in the hood.

We made a quick Costco run that afternoon.  We may make lots of trips there this summer since it is the only place they won't fight me to go.....free snacks throughout the store calls their name.

They also have the only decent "white cheese dip" in all of Texas.

We put out our flags in honor of Memorial Day.

We agreed to watch our neighbors dogs while they were out of town and since they are real dogs....they boys loved playing with them.  Ha.

Memorial Day weekend was a lot of baseball for us.  Mason had a possible 3-day tournament and Brody had the Keller Allstars Gold first tournament of the summer.

This kid was so excited to play summer ball and have his first tourney.
We had to split up for the games since they were around the same time.
John and Brody were a team Saturday.

And Mason and I were a team.  Mason's tournament Saturday was in Mansfield at their Field of Dreams.  It was an AWESOME park.  All the fields are replicas of MLB parks.  The boys were pumped to play there.

6U Keller Gold played in Colleyville.

One of the dads had his big camera out and got a couple of shots of Brody.

(love these white uniforms)

The Moms on Mason's team asked me to bring my camera Saturday to try and get some shots.  They certainly aren't professional but it does take much better shots than a phone.  But man is it hard to get good action shots.  In baseball, you have no clue where the next play will go!

He has been playing a ton of 2nd base and loves it.

Sunday, John and I switched kids.
I took Brody, and he took Mason.

So I brought my camera to his game too.  I mean it has been forever since I got that thing out but decided to bring it.  (they have to wear the face mask to play pitcher per their coach)

When you get two triples in a row you are all smiles.

They played two really good games Sunday and ended up winning a gold ring.
They were all so happy.

1.  Because they got a ring.
2. Because coach had promised them a water balloon fight only if they got a gold ring, not a silver.

So excited.

Brody and I were able to make it to our friends' pool party.
Mason was still playing.

Mason's team didn't play as good as they had hoped and ended their tourney play Sunday.  They all went to dinner after and then all four of us changed and headed to one of the players house for a fun party.  The weekend of games didn't go as they had hoped but they all do love hanging out together.

My tomato plants are giant.  There are at least 50 tomatos growing.  Crazy town.

Since we had no baseball Monday, John smoked some ribs and we all headed back to the pool for some fun.

We had a good dinner and then walked the trails in the neighborhood.
It was such a beautiful night.

We ended Memorial Day at Muggle Shakes.

It was a super fun weekend.
Ready to do it again next weekend with 2 tourneys again!

End of Kinder and 3rd Grade

Baseball was cancelled last weekend due to some serious rain. So instead of Mason's baseball tournament Sunday, we enjoyed a relaxing morning at the pool with neighbors.

Brody did end up having a scrimmage Sunday afternoon and he was excited.

Got to play a little catcher.

They had a talent show at school Monday.  I had to work but had about three Moms send me a video of Brody.  He was so excited about his performance but when time came, he was a bit embarrassed.  Still so proud he was able to get out there though!

It was a super busy two weeks.  I think they had something everyday during and after school every day!  Tuesday, Mason and his class had a pizza party for a recorder contest.

Tuesday night, Brody had a Kindergarten get together at the park.  So many kids were able to come and they had so much fun.  Who doesn't like park time and cake?!

Wednesday was their last full day of school.

And Brody's all stars uniforms came in.

Thursday the boys had a half day.  I'm not so sure either kid was very excited for this year to be over. It has honestly been the best year ever.  We love our school and had the BEST teachers at Shady Grove.  We had no clue what this year would be like and it exceeded any expectation we had.

I have to say, this looks like a big change to me.  Crazy how big he has gotten.

And I can't believe this one is done with Kinder.  Time flies.

Mason's friend had a big pool party after school.
A lot of the kids just walked home to her house after school.

And they had the best time.

I loved their class this year and hope most of them can stay together next year!
Their teachers stopped by too!

Brody was invited to his friend's house and had a blast too.  His friend was in his class and made the same all stars team so they are going to have a fun summer together.  His twin brother had a friend over too.  Their poor Mom had four 6 year olds over for a few hours.  ha

We got home and checked all of our goodies.  Brody was so lucky to be in Mrs.  Roy's class.  He loved being a Rock-N-Roller and this little rock and letter she sent home may have made me cry.  And I know it made all the girls in her class cry because they were all sobbing as they left the school because they were going to miss Mrs. Roy.

Mason's teachers gave out class awards.  The classes voted on each award.
Mason got the "Southern Gentleman" award for being the first to hold a door open for anyone, uses manners, and helps anyone in need.  Super proud Mom over here.

Thursday night we met friends at a pizza restaurant to say goodbye.  One of Mason's best friends Trevor and his family are moving away this weekend.  Mason has been a total wreck about it all week.  His younger brother has been in Brody's class all year and on his baseball team, and I am good friends with their Mom.  We are all so sad to see them go!

These three have been such good friends since Kindergarten.  They are just the sweetest kids in the world and they welcomed Mason into their group of friends.  We adore the kids and their parents.

We promised FaceTime, letters, and a vacation with all the families in two summers!

It has been the best year for these kiddos.
Makes us feel like we made the right move when moving to TX.
