Mother's Day Weekend

We had a great Mother's Day weekend around here.

Brody started off the weekend with this classy, airbrushed shirt.
He was pretty proud.

Friday night fun = using our gift cards at Toys R Us.
Free entertainment for Mom and Dad.

I think they picked out what they wanted in about three minutes.
It has to be a world record.

Friday night also means getting to "spend the night" with Mason as Brody says.

There is a new breakfast restaurant in Collierville I have been wanting to try, so we started off the Mother's Day celebrations Saturday morning.

It did not disappoint and had the best breakfasts for kids.

We did some stuff around the house and played outside since it was so beautiful.....Emma was not happy to be left alone inside.

We got tickets for the Redbirds game Saturday night.
It was absolutely beautiful out.

We sat on the third base line, so Mason brought his glove.

Brody looks way too old wearing that hat.

Time needs to slow down....

We had a great time.  It just showed us how old they are getting.  We actually sat and watched most of the game.  Did Brody want to play games?!  Of course he did.  But he did just fine watching the game and sitting in his seat until it was time.

Only $15 worth of ice cream right there.

There were no bounce houses or normal games there, only a video truck.

And can't forget the fireworks.

Sunday morning, the boys surprised me with all kinds of homemade gifts and some flowers to plant.

We got dressed and headed to church.

And then had our parents over for a late lunch.

We definitely got lucky in the family department.

He's the best.

Brody was about done with pictures at this point.
But really, who wouldn't be?!

It was a great weekend with these crazy boys.  I wouldn't have had it any other way.

House is Gone

It got a little chilly and windy last Friday.  These kiddos love hoodies.

Every afternoon.  Hitting the baseball and swinging.

Mom went out of town with all of her sisters to visit my uncle.
We tried to keep Dad alive for her!

When your feet are muddy and Mom tells you to wait to come in until she can clean your feet....

We all went to Dee one last time on Saturday to clean the floors, leave some things, and lock up before we closed.  It will be so nice not having to worry about that house.  It had become a burden.  BUT there are lots of memories we are leaving behind: Newlyweds, two babies, and tons of fun.

Saturday night Dad took us out to dinner.  The boys LOVE Chili's.  I could live without ever eating there again, but they have food they love and video games, so props to them for entertaining our kids during dinner!

Mason swore he was giving me a good smile, but he was 100% in a daze.

Our church always talks about the 7000 days we have with our children until they are off to college.  It is about teaching and helping them grow into young adults who can make their own, smart choices when the time comes.  They had a photobooth out last Sunday and I tried to calculate how many days we had left until our 7000 was up.....I def didn't calculate Mason's correctly.

Sunday afternoon we met our cousins at Fair on the Square.  I had never been before and the weather was perfect.  It is no Gtown Festival, but we still had a good time.

And yes there was a mechanical bull.

And snow cones.

And lots of bounce houses.

Here are pictures of Mom and her siblings.

First thing Monday morning, we closed on our house.

Holly was our real-estate agent and she was worth every penny.  She sold the house in 4 days at list price.  She made this all happen and we thought it would be impossible.
So thankful and glad to have it gone.

(The sweet lady who took this picture told us it was a great picture...)

It was a great way to start the week.

May the 4th

Last weekend was another busy one.

We finished up some yard work at Dee before we close next week.
These boys hardly remember this house, but it was our first home.  This was the home we brought both boys to after leaving the hospital.  Lots of memories.

This was actually Friday night, but I'm too lazy to move the pictures around.  I had to fill in at my old job last Friday so I was in East Memphis and able to make the boys' soccer game.  Thank goodness they have different colored shoes, because one wrinkle in a jersey could get ya real confused!

After leaving Dee Saturday morning, we headed to Reese's track meet.
I think we know why the kids like going....Mem Pops.

There she is.

Continuing with the ice cream, we had Micco's snow cones after dinner Saturday night.
(Brody prefers cookies over ice cream)

Mom and Dad ate with us since they had no kitchen.  Literally, no cabinets, countertops, and most importantly a sink!

Brody's school is getting ready for his graduation.  He is actually not going on to Kindergarten, but oh well.  He loves the superhero theme.

This was short and sweet.
