FINALLY the countdown ended and it was time to hit the road.
Too many hours later, we made it. There was a fire that closed one of the main roads heading into town. Nothing like being 12 miles away and sitting for an hour and a half.
No pictures this night.
We did our usual grocery store run/pizza, unpacked, and dreamt about the ocean.

There was a little rain Sunday morning when we woke up but then just became cloudy.
Brody didn't like to get very wet last year and didn't prefer getting dirty in the sand.
The moment we got down to the ocean, it was obvious that had changed.
It was so breezy and felt great outside.
This little guy got soaked.
We put on our suits and went down to the indoor pool where we found this old man.
The rain stopped so we headed out. We stayed at a different place this year, and the amenities were wonderful. The splash pad was perfect.
Back down to the beach we went. It was still cloudy when we came out so we took not much of anything thinking we may have to go back in soon. Right as we got out the sun appeared and boy was it strong.
We ended up getting pretty crispy in those two hours we were out.
The great thing about going earlier in the summer is the weather. It is much cooler than July! We were able to eat at The Gulf which is all outdoors. It is the best place to eat with kids. They played and played until our food came, then played and played when they were done.

And they have the best view for pictures!
Best parents ever.
They have the coolest outdoor seating.
Pretty sunset.
They had racquet ball in the lobby, and John and I played almost every morning. I have no problem saying he was much better than me but I did improve throughout the week. =)
Monday was overcast due to the tropical storm a little East of us. The only problem we had in Orange Beach were with the waves. There was a crazy rip tide so we stayed at the pool all day. Plus, overcast was good for those of us who were burnt!
We went to the crab trap in FL this night. It was another beautiful night so we knew the boys would love playing on the playground while waiting on the food.
We had planned to go to the arcade after dinner but opted for miniature golf instead.
This little guy hit three hole in ones. It was hilarious. I had none FYI.

He couldn't believe it himself.
Mason had a blast.
I definitely feel like we had to do more entertaining this year as they are getting older! The more memories, the better!
but we had cheerleaders this time.
Storm was gone and sun was out.
I'm not sure we saw another cloud the rest of the trip. By the end of the week we were wishing they would return!
This little one loved swimming around the pool.
And this little guy is basically a fish. We were beginning to think he didn't need air. He loves swimming and had a blast all week. All he needed were a couple of toys to throw at the bottom of the pool. He would play with them all day.
Which means, we all got to sit around a little more while at the pool. Of course watching them the entire time, but getting to relax also.
Best part of the hotel....the Italian Ice stand they set up each day. They were amazing. I stopped counting how many we consumed.
John and I took Mason down for a little boogie board action.
(John had some gnarly sunburn lines)
Waves were still bigger but rip tide was gone.
Brody loves jumping in the pool.
We ordered in this night so we could relax, eat, and crab hunt.
Mom brought these light-up rocket copters that were super fun. We ended up playing with those the whole time.
"I'm always on vacation."
We had seen some kids doing it so we decided to try. Looking back, 33 year old's probably shouldn't be trying something they saw a 7 year old do...
John gave it a go, but as you can see...it didn't go well. Mom and I had tears rolling down our faces as horrible as that sounds. It was hilarious. He got scraped up pretty good, popped his shoulder, and got a massive bruise on his hip. So if anyone wants a skim board, we have one for sale!
We cooked our annual seafood dinner this night and promised the boys night swimming at the pool.
