Lost Pines Vacay

I took the boys to the mall to pick up something.  I guess they've never really been to a food court....we just don't go to the malls like we once did.  They couldn't believe we could all get things from different places.  Amazed. 

Of course he stuck with Chickfila while Mason grabbed Asian food. 

Chores....

I took them to Keller Pointe Friday and Brody ran into one of his best friends. 

Which means I did a lot of NOTHING. 

We got up Saturday morning and left for the Lost Pines Family Resort.  I had never heard of a family resort until moving here.  They have several of them in the Austin/San Antonio hill country area.  And it does make sense because all the massive cities in Texas like SA, Austin, DFW, and Houston can all drive to these resorts.  We had heard great things, so we were pumped. 

We decided to take the scenic route down instead of 35.  You pass through all the hills and there is much less traffic.  You go through lots of small towns and there are good, old restaurants along the way.  We stopped at Koffee Kup and loved it!

We got there before check-in but were able to play at that pool while waiting for our room. 

This is the "beach" pool, there is sand and a volleyball net. 

All the pools are connected.  The beach pool leads to the lazy river which has an opening for the water slide.  It is a much smaller resort than some of the others but it was PERFECT for our family.  The kids got a bit of independence here and had such a fun, long weekend. 

We had the dog and it was HOT.  We tried to keep her cool and they brought her water, but it was steamy out there.  

The best part about the place is there are waiters in each section surrounding the entire water area.  They serve you drinks and food.  It is amazing.  We snacked on some watermelon that day.

They have all kinds of fun family activities going on.  There are bikes set up and we literally rode them around everywhere (and it isn't a big resort, but it was so much fun).  Mason rode bikes a TON. There are animals, s'mores and movies every night, corn hole, horseshoe, and a few ping pong areas. 

There were all kinds of sport activities down by the river. 

And I think we played corn hole every day we were there. 

They came back and won at the very end.  Brody and I should have won!

It was so fun floating the lazy river all day long. 

There was a fun swim-up bar on the river too. 

The kids ditched us most of the trip.  Ha.

By the end, Mason would float around to the bar and put a lemonade on our room.  HAHA

There are several restaurants at the resort.  This night we ate at the fancy buffet and I think Brody found his love for a good buffet.  

They agreed to wear polos because they are dri-fit.

And we watched Spiderman and ate our popcorn.

Me and Mason walked Emmy....showed her the river. 

We realized it had been a year since we moved to Texas.  It has flown by. 

And we survived!  

We have loved living here, and it was a great move for our whole family.  Everyone put on a brave face Day 1.  It won't lie, it was terrifying!!!  But our little family has done so well.

They found lots of friends but particularly spent a ton of time with these two brothers.  And funny enough, John and I found another couple from Fort Worth with boys who we have played baseball against.  We floated around the lazy river with them one afternoon forever.

And we all really improved our corn hole game. 

We let them have a couple of hours at the pool before we went home.

It was the BEST trip.  Family resorts are the way to go!  We will 100% be back and hopefully sooner than later.  Such a great long weekend trip that is only 3 hours away!  

But that ends our summer fun....school starts back next week!!!!!
