A Mini Staycation

I have given approximately 173647282 haircuts during Covid.  This boy was shaggy!

We got the new slip n slide out.  It was one of Brody's birthday gifts.  It was so expensive on Amazon since they are hard to come by, and it was soooo cheaply made.  It burst the moment we hooked up the water.  Ugh.  But we still tried to make it fun for 15 minutes before we threw it away.....

It was our first weekend off from baseball and I had planned to be off that following Monday and Tuesday so we could go out of town.  Turns out John had to work for Mueller Friday and Saturday so we couldn't book anything since we didn't know when he would get home.  Of course he got home early but everything was sold out!  No Lost Pines this year for us.  We ended up grabbing a one night stay at the Gaylord hotel 15 minutes from our house.  They let us check in at noon, so we threw on our bathing suits and went down to the pool.

They have a waterpark there also but on Saturdays, you have to reserve a four hour window.  All they had         available was 5-9pm so we went to the main pool first.

They may not have been Lost Pines pina coladas but they were good enough.  Ha.

The pool is pretty big and they even had a dj.  It could be a wild pool if a bunch of kids weren't there....ha

                                                                            What a bro.

The Gaylord did have all kinds of family things to do.  They even had animals there to pet.

We got on the shuttle and went to the waterpark.....masks and all.

The kids loved it and so did John and I.  Honestly, because they got the group before us out of there, it wasn't crowded and we found a great spot with chairs and an umbrella.  Our kids are old enough to let them run off together and come back to our spot to find us.  We had a blast and it was very nice.

We woke up Sunday morning and had breakfast, packed up, checked in our luggage, and went back to the waterpark until we were ready to go back home.  We could stay as long as we wanted.  We scored the same great spot right in front of the lazy river.

                                                            They had dye-free Kona Ice

Got one each day on top of daquaris.  One day of unlimited fun.
It was a perfect staycation before school starts back whatever that may look like.

With no baseball, we are a bit lost.  We went to the pool after work last week a couple of times.                                              Had it to ourselves every time.

The boys have been having fun at the Deaner's when I work!

We got to try out a place that is always too busy but ya know, Covid.
                                                                    It was delicious!

We may be off for a couple of weeks but the boys and the neighbors constantly play baseball in the backyard.  They even built foul poles so no more fighting over foul balls.

We went swimming a couple of times this weekend.  Lazy lazy weekend.

Summer will be over soon so we may as well enjoy it while we can!
