End of Baseball and the big EIGHT

MLB is back on TV!  We may not be able to have fans in the stands but it felt good to see it on tv.  Noone was asking to play video games or grabbing their iPads....just wanted to watch downstairs with Mom and Dad.  I do think the world would be a better place with even more sports on.

Brody got a bday package in the mail from Mickey Mouse.  He, all of a sudden, wanted a new hoverboard. And of course she got him one....but it has bluetooth and he can play his jams all day every day on it.  Ha.

I got a new rug and pillows!

Last Friday, we met friends at Grapevine Lake.  I don't know why we haven't been yet but it is a lake 20 minutes from our house.  They have a beach there where the kids can play in the water, they had trampolines out in the water, and they had kayaking and paddle boarding.  So fun.

                                                                            We chose to kayak.

Poor Summer had a one step forward, two steps back kind of boat.  Ha

We had the kayaks for about an hour.  We explored a bit and would then let them jump off and swim.                  They had a great time!

It was a success.  I think we will be back sooner than later.  I would love to rent a boat and tube with the boys while we have a small baseball break.

Again, thankful MLB is back.....
(also thankful for a good Daddy)

We had our last baseball tournaments this past weekend.  Both boys had games at the same time Saturday.  I watched Mason's team win both of their pool play games Saturday on GameChanger while saw the Indians win both of their games in person.

We had an in between game snack break.

It was a good day.  Brower went 4-0.
Brody's team beat the Dirtbags and one other team to have the first seed.
Mason's team ended up with the second seed.  Fun day!

Since Brody's birthday was the next Tuesday and two other boys had birthdays the next week, I grabbed a cookie cake to celebrate bdays and the end of the season.

                                                                    Orange Crush Sunday

Brody's team ended up having to play a better team than they should have.  Just the way the seeding worked and who played who in pool play.  We had to play one of the teams we beat the day before but honestly, just had a bad day.  It is what it is.  They ended up losing but not without a fight!

What a season.  They won two out of their four tournaments and had a BLAST doing it.

We left Oak Grove Park just in time to see Mason's team play more games.  This was the semi-final game (Brody and I missed the first game of the day) where Colby hit a walk off to win the game.  It was awesome.  This team NEVER gives up.  It has been so fun to watch!

Excited to be in the championship game AGAIN!

                                                                    Walk off king here.

Little brothers watching.

It was a long day but what a beautiful night.

They ended up crushing them (we knew the semi game was the game to win).  They ALL hit so well and played amazing defense.  It was impressive.  They won by slaughter rule.

What a way to end the season, back to back championships.

So proud of Mason and John.  John has put just as much work into this team.  They have spent so many hours out there in the heat but haven't complained once.  This was a special team and we are thankful to have been a part of it!

                                                                    Love Coach Kaleb.

We had Monday off work!
We were lazy except for an ortho appt for Mason.

And he got his upper appliance off so he was pumped.

Last night as a seven year old!

Unfortunately, we had to go to my work for a few hours.  No fun I know.
I did grab donuts to ease the pain!

                                                        He specifically wanted blue crocs.

He chose Smash Birger for lunch!  (the best!)

I made a cake and someone (Mason) tested it out.....

This child (who has always been a horrible eater) chose Dragon House for dinner!  It is the best Chinese restaurant that specialized in dumplings.  They are the best.  John and I didn't question his choice!

An order of pork dumplings all to himself!

                                                            Singing Happy Birthday

We still let him blow out the candles in the middle of a pandemic!

Invited Owen back over for cake!

Can't believe baseball is over and can't believe he is EIGHT!
Life is just flying by.

The night before his birthday, he did have baseball tryouts for the fall.  Our team is moving up to the Knights which is exciting.  These kids have been looking forward to being a Knight!
He made the team and told us "it was the best birthday present he could get!"
