Back to School

 

Haircut and new shirt.  Cool kid alert. 

He is also very much a Sneaker Head.  Found some VaporMax Nikes which I think are hideous.                                  He, on the other hand, was stoked. 

Back to school shoes shopping. 

John got his work Rangers tickets for us and we were PUMPED.  John has been several times and we've always been left behind because we aren't as cool as customers.   Ha. 

The seats are right behind home plate and amazing. 

They were playing the Angels and Ohtani wasn't pitching but was hitting.  

Boys were so excited. 

The seats also came with free food and beverages.  We ate at the Speak Easy restaurant before and then continued to eat and drink during the game.  This was my kind of baseball game.

Brody even found teammate. 

We snuck in a few more pool days before school started. 

And then I accidenlty cut our interest wire on an early Saturday morning......not good.  

Not good at all. 

Desperately trying to get it fixed!  Ha

We took the boys by train to Grapevine for a fun dinner. 

Annual Freddys pic of the summer. 

John and I went out with our Knights friends.  We went to a super fun dinner at Hotel Drover and then off to the Stockyard bars.  SUCH a fun night out!

I mean the pictures tell it all.  Cowboy boots, cowboy hats, and friends.  

The boys have also gotten into fishing.  Grandpa and Grandma got Brody a fishing pole for his birthday and we had to get one for Mason too after one day. All the kiddos get on their bikes with their tackle boxes in their backpacks holding their fishing poles.  Its so fun. 

They have caught so many fish!  They catch blue gills just right there by our house in the small creek.  They can catch bigger bass where it opens up. 

We had Student Walk throughs for middle school the Monday before school started.  We also had a fun preathletics meeting.  As you can tell, Mason did NOT want his picture taken with his Momma. 

I had to work on the first day of school but had John snap a picture!

But they also got up early for me to take some!  Ha.

First day of 6th and 3rd grade!

The big kids are riding the bus this year!  

We have six kiddos they walk with and so far are loving it. 

6th grade has been great so far.  The boys LOVE preathletcis.  They have to change every day into their uniforms and have athletic lockers.  They practice for an entire period with the football coaches to get them ready for next year.  They will also work on basketball and track and field this year.  Mason is ready to play football next year and can't wait for athletics!

And we also have started an elementary carpool so we each drive there MUCH LESS than before!

It is magical!!!

Highland Creek Carpool

John was given Cowboys preseason football tickets so he took the boys.  It was the first home preseason game.  Brody had never been before and was VERY excited.  They know every player on every NFL team because of the video game Madden.  

Free towels. 

Blurry but at least he took a picture!  All reported back that it was fun but VERY loud.  

While the boys were there, I was with my girlfriends at a winery.  I win.  Ha. 

Last weekend before baseball started so we grilled out.  

Smoked lamb on the big green egg and it was DELICIOUS. 

Evans celebrated a birthday and invited Mason to dinner. 

They ate their weight in wings. 

John and I took Brody to practice the other night.  Our practice days have been switched so its been weird.  We decided to have an ice cream date while they were warming up.  Ha. 

He also brought his radar to clock the boys.....

Brody had his first tournament of the season this weekend.  It was just the Keller Warm Up Tourney but it was a blast seeing all our Keller peeps. 

He is on second here and his buddy Austin is playing second.  He is a little brother of one of Mason's teammates.  He was so excited to play them!  They are a year older and the top team in that age group, so we lost but it was still fun.  We did turn around and beat the 10u Indians in that age group.

The Aces threw their top two pitchers.  Brody lined out with one and then got a hit with the second.  Good weekend at the plate for him. 

Ugh.  These were new pants.....

FINALLY allowed back in the building for lunch dates!  Happy boy!

I've been working on our office and loving it so far. 

Brody got to go on a field trip today.  First one in FOREVER.  They got to go to the natatorium.  But in third grade, you get to jump off the diving board and he was pumped.  

Of course, he was the first one to try a front flip.  You can hear them chanting "Brody". 

Baseball is in full force this coming weekend!
