The End of Fall Ball

Well it has happened....Brody only wants to wear "cool clothes" to school.

Show-N-Tell were the letters Y and X this week.  I could not think of anything, and Brody runs downstairs with his Yoda.  Kid is smarter than me!

Mason had a pirate's lunch at school for hitting a fundraiser goal.

We had Friday Night Skills, and it was freezing cold.  John and I made coffees and brought layers just to keep warm.  The kids had a blast and continued to tell us they were hot....

Saturday was a busy day.  The boys had soccer games at the same time that morning, so John and I split up.  I was at Brody's game, he was at Mason's.  But I went back and forth when Brody was out of his game.

Mason did so well.  He has just gotten so much better as the season has gone on.  He hasn't played in THREE years, so there was definitely a learning curve.  Not to mention, it is real soccer now.  You can't say he doesn't run around and hustle the whole time.

Brody has the time of his life out there whether he is running with the ball or rolling down the hill.  Either way, he is having fun.  =)

This picture is great.  Mason looks like he is dying in pain, but I guess I shot it right when he hit the ground.  He got right back up and even earned his team a penalty kick.  He was pumped.

He totally ran that kid down.

 Happy they won.

It was a fun day all around.

After the game, I took Mason to his friends' birthday party at Main Event.
He had a blast.

Time hop killing me over here.
A lot can change in five years.

Sunday was an afternoon of games.  We've had so much rain that it messed up both baseball and soccer schedules.  Mason had a double header in baseball and a soccer game.  He couldn't be in two places at once, so he missed his soccer game.  Brody also had a soccer game.
John and I went to the baseball games, Mom took Brody to his soccer game.

So this kid....he has been getting upset if he doesn't get a hit....   And it isn't often, but it does happen.  I mean it is baseball, the goal for the other team is to get outs!  So I talked to him before the games explaining we had two games, he would not get a hit every time he went to the plate.  No reason to get upset, no one expects him to get a hit every time.  All we wanted was have fun.  He then tells me that HE expects himself to get a hit every time.....(he is just so hard on himself, but there was nothing else I could possibly say)

Well go figure, he got a hit every time probably just to prove me wrong.  Ha.
I mean I was just trying to help here.

Hate that this is blurry, but this is the look of a kid after hitting a home run.
Third home run during fall ball.

Coach John.

We had the best kids on this baseball team.  I think they all had a blast together.  Oddly enough, none of them knew each other before the season, but they are friends now.

Sad for it to come to an end, but there will always be the spring.
Mason is lucky to have such a good Daddy.

Can't leave out this little guy.  He wanted his picture with his Dad in his uniform too.
Hate we had to miss his game....especially his dab during the game.  =)

One more week/weekend of soccer....then we are on to basketball!

Halloween 2017

We were in full Halloween mode over here.

We had our neighbors over for a bunch of junk food before trick or treating.
I tried to make those mummy dogs, but they looked much better on Pinterest.

The boys' pumpkins were ready for trick or treaters.

Of course I made them take pictures.

As you can see, we ended up finding Brody the matching regular Power Ranger.  He was thrilled.  We got plenty of use out of the other, so I didn't feel like it was that big of a deal.
Plus, they all looked so cute together.

I just put on cat ears.  I was last minute shopping, they had this lion head, so I got it for John.  =)
We will have to do a better job next year!

John scared the mess out of them in this picture.  Problem is, they have masks on so you can't even see their faces.  Ha.

The boys with Teagan and Conner.

We stayed out for a while trick or treating.  It's always so fun because we run into all their school friends.  They got a TON of candy.

It was a fun night.

The next afternoon.....

Mason had soccer Thursday night.

This kid is all of a sudden wanting to only wear "cool" clothes.
He thought he was something else Friday.

We hadn't been to hibachi in a while, so we gave it a go Friday night.
Brody was excited until the fire....he didn't quite like that.

But this kid was in Heaven.  He ate half of my steak and every bite of his rice and shrimp.
It is his jam.

Saturday was a complete rainout.  No soccer games for the second weekend in a row.
But we did have to go to the doc.  This kid got some bug bites last weekend that are now infected.
Nothing a little ointment can't help, and I think he liked the one on one time.

Pre church on  warm Sunday in November.

Sunday afternoon, John practiced the goalie position with the boys.
Pretty sure he woke up sore Monday.

Another year in preschool means another turkey disguise project.  I think this is number four or five between both boys.  This year Brody chose an angry bird, and he was very proud of himself.

Cannot believe it is November!

Pre Halloween Festivities

We went to the Halloween cove in Collierville.  It.  Was.  Insane.
John was bowling, so the kids and I took Mom.  Once John got home, the kids wanted go back to show him.  So off we went and they were terrified for the second time of the night.  Terrified.

Still don't understand how they got a pirate ship in the middle of their front yard.

Brody's school was getting ready for their trunk or treat.

Tara Oaks had Open House last Thursday.  Mason was proud to show us all of his work.

Mason had a field trip Friday morning and Brody had a pumpkin patch at his school at the same time.  John took off Friday to go with Brody, I went with Mason.

Brody was super excited.

It turned COLD on Friday.  Honestly, we were cold all weekend long.
The field trip was at the Botanic Gardens.  They had the entire lawn set up with fun, learning stations.  It was a blast.  (minus the weather)

Finding candy in a haystack.

Squeezing out juice from apples like the good ole days.

The spider maze, of course, was the favorite among all the boys.
The last forty minutes, they played tag in the maze with lots of friends.

Loved spending time with him.

All the while John was with Brody.  He got to pick out a pumpkin, play games, and read a Halloween story.  It was short and sweet, and all the kids stayed until the end of the day.  He was so proud his Daddy came.

Mason and I left the field trip and met John at Huey's.
School skipper.

We had planned on going to Scare on the Square that night, but it began pouring and it was freezing.  Our neighbor called and said they were there, so I decided to just run up there with the boys real quick.  We were all soaking wet and shivering, but the kids had a blast.  They trick or treated around the square before we went inside the church to play games and warm up.

We are Power Rangers this year.  Brody wanted to be the red dino charge one (from the tv show instead of the movies).  I guess I should have gotten him the regular red Ranger, but oh well.
Too late now!

Inside felt much better.

They had games, face painting, balloon animals, etc.

We had three soccer games scheduled Saturday, but they were cancelled due to the rain the night before.   We had not planned on going to Brody's school's Trunk or Treat until then.

We brought along Teagan, aka the pink power ranger.
It was too cold for her to give me a power ranger pose.  Ha.

Cupcakes after the cake walk.

We had a good time.....but again, we froze.  Like we ran to the car when we all decided it was time to go home.  We stayed nice and cozy the rest of the afternoon at our house.

Sunday morning were family pictures.  Everyone loves to take those....

We hadn't had as much time this fall to do much fun stuff until this weekend, so we decided to do it all.  It was pumpkin carving time Sunday afternoon with cousins.

Thats a lot of guts there Brody.

The kids do better and better each year about doing it themselves.

Jack O Lantern

His Harry Potter pumpkin.

The finished products with the hard workers.

We had one baseball game Sunday afternoon.
The boys did well.  Mason went 5 for 5.

Yesterday was Halloween party day for Brody.
We decided to keep the Halloween fun going with out shirts yesterday

Tonight is the night.  All Hallows Eve.
The boys are excited to trick or treat.
(like they need anymore candy)
