Peaches, Peaches, and more Peaches

Friday night after work, we picked the kids up from my parents house but not before hanging out with Brinkley.  I think Mason, Brinkley, and Mr. John had a good time together.  Ha.

Saturday morning, Becca and I had planned to take the crew to an orchard.  If we had gone about a month before, we could have picked from a variety of fruit, but all they had were peaches...and LOTS of them!  Fortunately, I love some peaches.

I put Brody in a jon jon and he wasn't too thrilled at first...
(**please note the clothes in the background...our house is still in shambles!)

There were thousands of peach trees and all different kinds.

Mason wasn't happy at first about getting something done off MY summer bucket list instead of his, but he finally chippered up.

We decided to leave the strollers in the cars and let the little ones run around.  The guy driving a tractor with a large trailer asked if we wanted a hitch.  He took us deep into the orchard to get the ripest ones.

The three amigos.

I love this picture.  Think they are excited?!

He let us off and we just started filling up our baskets.

I told Brody to pull the peach off.  He is saying "Oh" here.

Proud of her loot.

These guys were just picking anything and everything.  We may have found some mushed up, rotten peaches after we paid.  Ha.

Anderson.

Griffin hit the jackpot.

Pickin' peaches in the hot sun.

Sticking 'em under her chin to carry more.

Look how many are on this tree!

Checkout that full basket.

What do you do with three little ones when they get tired in an orchard?!  You show them you can actually consume the peaches and that they are not in fact balls.

Pretty sure you aren't supposed to eat the peaches out there, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  Check out that juice running down Mason's mouth.

They were good.

We may have eaten about 10 (or more) while we were out there.  Shhhh

Such a great picture.

The trees went on for days.

Becca and her Brower clan.

My Brower clan.

The only bad thing about that tractor taking us out to a good place...he never came back to pick us up.  Just imagine all of us walking back carrying THREE large baskets full of peaches.

Right when we started picking, Mason and Reese asked whose idea this was because it was so much fun.  Around the time of these pictures, they asked again whose idea it was "because it wasn't a good one".  Hahahaha.   Labor of love.

Reese took one for the team and carried a basket.

We had a great time!  I hate John had to miss it because he was working on our rental property, but we will be back for sure!

We each brought an enormous amount of peaches home with us.  I have given many away and probably eaten 15 myself.  Mason has found several ways to eat his.  Here is a PB and peach sandwich...

Saturday afternoon, we headed to Herb Parson's Lake to scratch off one of John's bucket list items.  Unfortunately, Mason fell asleep on the way there and slept the entire time.  It was beautiful and so peaceful out there.

Brody thought it was hilarious Mason was asleep in the stroller.

Who knew tree stumps were so fun.

Putting him to work.

Afterwards, we went to Wolf River Cafe and had the best dinner.  Its a small, country restaurant, and I loved the giant Mason jars.  You can tell John was pretty impressed too...or embarrassed he is taking a picture with his glass and mother-in-law.

Oh Brody.  That face kills me.

He thought the toothless woman next to us was hilarious.  He wouldn't stop playing with her.

We ended the day with peach cobbler at Mason's request.

I still see more peaches in my future.
