We are practicing and practicing for fall baseball but it keeps raining each weekend! Games for the second week in a row were cancelled. (**Spoiler alert: they are going to be cancelled again this weekend due to storms.) Not sure why TX has odd weather the second we move here!
I added a child at pick up last Friday and brought him home. He and Mason had a great time and little brother followed behind (crying a time or two). They played capture the flag, jumped on the trampoline, ate pizza and ice cream, and played Fortnite. A boy's dream night.
Saturday was a wash. We watched football, ate lunch out, and watched more football.
But John did smoke some giant pork chops. They were so good. Unfortunately, it rained in the middle of it, but he made it work......
Headed to church Sunday morning.
We had a Sunday family game day.
This child is HORRIBLE at keeping a secret just like his Momma.
We had been watching the tickets for the Cowboys game. First home game of the season and they were playing the Giants (go Eli). Unfortunately it was at 7:20 which is pretty late. An hour before the game started, tickets dropped so much that John couldn't pass them up. He and Mason headed to the game. It is a 20 minute drive, so its pretty cool we can do that.
It may not have been the best parenting move seeing school was the next morning, but they left before the game was over and made it back at a decent time. More importantly, they had a great time and Mason thought it was so cool. (and no-one said anything about his NY Giants jersey)

I took the little guys to the playground for a bit during the big brothers' practice.
Tuesday, Mason had his first field trip. In the state of TX, as part of school curriculum, they require each school system go over swimming safety as well as give swimming instructions if needed. Every school district (or ISDs as they call them) have an indoor swimming pool, or Natatorium (I had no clue what that word meant before moving here). He was pretty excited to go.
The place is huge. And I pass it every morning, but had no clue that is what it was. HA
They had to sit for almost two hours watching videos on swimming safety and then throw life jackets, etc to "swimmers in need". THEN they finally got to free swim and jump off the diving boards.
After swimming, they ate a picnic lunch and then headed back to school.
We have more visitors in town this weekend, Grandma and Grandpa. The kids are really excited. I just really wish the rain would hold off!
