End of Fall Ball

Mom stayed in town the week after the ATL weekend.  I worked Wednesday and Thursday so she helped get the boys to and from school.  We had the day to ourselves on Friday.

We got the boys to school and decided to go to the movies to see A Star is Born. It was the best movie.  I may have dowloaded the soundtrack as we were walking out....

Pretty sure we will use the photo booth every time.  

They have a real restaurant inside with waiters.  The food was amazing. 

Last weekend of fall ball was this past weekend.  Unfortunately, we got the WORST time slots all season long.  Mason's game Friday night was from 8-10pm.  And it was COLD.  Here we are holding onto the blanket as long as we can before we had to leave. 

Unfortunately, this has been the worst baseball season possible.  We only played five games due to rainouts.  And our team didn't care.  So it was fun.  We only had six kids come Friday night (we were never scheduled a game this weekend until all the rain....everyone had plans).  We had to forfeit.  

It really was the perfect end to this season.  Ha. 

But we are looking forward to the next season!  It can only go up from here!

BUT even only playing 5 games....Mason got to pitch in 4 of them, had a single, double, and HR, walked a lot, struck out a couple of times, made an unassisted double play at first, ended a game catching a popup while pitching, and was an awesome catcher.  We still have to work on keeping our cool out there if we don't like the ump's call, but he is working on it. 

Kid pitch is no joke....slowest game ever.  But it was fun to watch (even if just a few games!). 

So we went home and made hot chocolate. 

We found some batting cage close by.  He got to hit off the machine for the first time. 

Lazy, cold Saturday. 

We had no plans clllllll day Saturday until Brody's last game of the season.....at 7pm.  Really?  Like I said earlier, horrible time slots for games.  

Another cold night.  

Brody tagged someone out at second and slid into home before they could tag him out.  He certainly hustled all season and had a blast.  

I had to wrestle these kids in the dugout the last game.  

Brody made lots of outs, good throws to first, and hit off the coach (aka his Dad) all season long.  We have loved playing this league's modified t-ball.  Five run innings, record outs, and three pitches by coach before two off the tee.  He had a really fun (short) season also. 

And its fun when your Dad is a coach.

I have been asking and asking to go to Sundance Square.  

It was pretty cold Sunday, but my family agreed to go.  

I think it met the expectations.  It is really neat.  Right in the middle of their downtown.  Tons of restaurants and stores.  It would be a great date night spot.  Downtown Fort Worth is just so clean and pretty. 

We all got Starbucks and walked around. 

Then we ran over to Cowtown Brewery.  It is a new brewery and John's boss' son is part owner.  They have people come in to smoke BBQ and then of course beer.  We had some yummy snacks and the kids played Jenga.  It was actually really fun.

Im thinking of bringing our jenga set everywhere we go....
