Baseball and a Birthday

Boys have been asking for new Keller hats.
(and I had no clue until just now he was showing off his ring)

We had our first week of summer this past week where I am with them 3 days and the nanny the other 2.  We tried to find a good balance between running errands and fun.

We joined Keller Pointe finally and also got to play on the playgrounds there which are awesome.

And we also had a car wash and vacuumed out the car.

We had a playdate with Finley at the local arcade.  Its a $15 play all day thing and the kids just love it.  Brody even found one of his Indians teammates there.

Brody and Finley

We found time to go to the pool.

Brody had his end of the year Indians baseball party Thursday night.  So much fun.

Handing out trophies.

We had a fun baseball season.  We made some good friends with a couple of families and thankfully, are getting to play with them during the summer.

The boys FINALLY got to go to Keller Pointe's outdoor area.  They have been waiting since we moved here.....

Just chilaxin'

We had a fun time and ran into several Shady Grove Moms and kiddos.

John was given tickets to the Rangers game Friday night but Brody had practice.  Mason decided to take one of his teammates so I got to go!  We went to TX Live to eat before and had a blast.

The boys may have jumped on the jumbotron as we were leaving....

It was a great night for baseball.

We had to leave before it was over because the boys had a one day tournament on Saturday.  As we were walking out, the Rangers hit a grand slam.....go figure.

Saturday was a HOT one.  Like I said, Mason's team had a one day tournament.  We were all able to go to the first game at 9:30, but Brody and I had to leave after that game.  It was already so hot and we got out there at 8:30.  It was a long day.

Mason's team watching a game between their games.

The Dirtbags lost in the semi-final game but were so close.
It's tough playing so many games in one day!

Brody and I had to head back home and get ready for his two pool play games on Saturday.
So excited to play with Mays!

Almost game time.

Anytime one of them hits a HR, the run out and meet them at the plate.
It is pretty cute.

They went 2-0 on Saturday.

Homerun hitters.

Sunday was John's birthday.  Unfortunately for him, we had baseball all morning after a long day of baseball the day before.  And I have a feeling it is going to be like this year after year for a while....

We had to wake up early to get to Grapevine by 7am.  This guy was exhausted from playing 4 games the day before in the hot sun.

It was a little rainy in the morning but we were able to play through it.
We do have the best dad in the world.

Brody hit four homeruns on Sunday bringing his total to 5 for the weekend.
There he is in the middle of the pile getting a bunch of 6 year old head taps.

Watching the game before to see who we would play next.

Big brother finally got to see him play.  Here he is giving him advice.

We won pretty big again.  Went 5-0 for the tournament and won the whole thing.
They were so excited.  It does seem like a lot of baseball for 6 year olds (and it is) but they are having sooooooo much fun.  (and so are the parents)

It was a close championship game.  Brody hit a HR in the 5th inning and it was the only run for us.  If he hadn't had gotten that HR, good chance we wouldn't have won.

We played the Colleyville Stars in the championship game.  Last fall, Watts was on Brody's team and his Dad and John coached the team.  They moved to Colleyville, so we wondered if we would see him out here.  Pretty cool to play with him!

So nice to have us all at the games Sunday!

We get emails from Gamechager after the games.  This was after the second game Sunday,

We got home and were all EXHAUSTED.  It was still JBs birthday but we were done. We went to the pool to get the dirt off the boys and relax.

I did manage to get to the store for cookies....and sushi takeout for dinner.  Wasn't a good home cooked meal but we did sing happy birthday.  I'm fairly certain John wouldn't have changed the day for anything.  He loves nothing more than watching them play baseball.
