This was when we officially had two kids with black eyes. Cant tell in the picture, but they are there. Nothing like walking around with two kids with black eyes....
We met Brody's friends last week to see a movie.
Kids loved it.
And then went straight to work in the batting cages.
Found a little time to swim with our new raft.
Nothing like being the little brother. Ha. Just kidding.
He and Mason were playing and he got pushed into the corner of a window.
It was a complete accident.
Mason changed my sign to what he wanted....
I have had such great luck this year with my garden. I've never seen anything like it. We have eaten tomato after tomato! About to have to do that with all the peppers!
The whale wasn't enough, so we had to add a duck.
Brody's team won their tournament that got rained out since they were seeded first.
They got their rings at practice last week.
Happiness.
Grandma and Grandpa came in town to watch the boys play baseball.
(And for Grandpa to lose to Brody in his baseball video game)
It has been a very busy week starting with Saturday.
Mason and I went to opening day ceremonies for the DFW World Series. We had to be there at 7am to get a parking spot and tailgate.
They were able to trade their pins with all the other teams.
It was pretty cool. He ended up with almost 50 pins from other kids.
John, Judy, Larry, and Brody were able to come by to see a couple of events Mason competed in.
Brody had afternoon games on Saturday and it was a HOT day.
Brody loves being at any of Mason's baseball so he can hang with his friends.
I brought my camera for some of the events.
Watching the HR Derby.
Notice Brody right in the middle of it.
We were there until about 3 (we cut out a tad early to see Brody's games).
It was so much fun though.
Made it to Brody's games. They went 2-0 on Saturday.
Sunday was another busy day.
I headed to Trophy Club with Brody while John, Judy and Larry went to Mason's tournament games.
I headed to Trophy Club with Brody while John, Judy and Larry went to Mason's tournament games.
Unfortunately, they played a tough team in their first bracket game and lost. No one was expecting it and the boys were super sad. They lost their very first game of the season and then won 14 since.
Winning AND losing never hurt anyone!
So that meant Brody and I were done early, so we headed to Flower Mound to watch Mason's team. It was not such a fun day of baseball. They had to play a triple A team first and then did not play well the second game. It was hot and the games were spread out and at different parks.
Just not a good day of ball AT ALL!
But so happy Grandma and Grandpa were there to watch!
They played another game Monday at noon and then had the rest of the day off. Grandpa went swimming with the boys before dinner.
We got a fun mail package from our friends who moved to Michigan!
Mickey Mouse came in town Monday afternoon and Grandma and Grandpa left Tuesday morning. Tuesdays game was at night, so we all got to go to that one. It was a much better played game and the boys should have been proud of themselves!
I finally got one of Mason's hits on video.
Wednesdays game was at 1:15 and neither John nor I could go. Mom took the boys. I did get this picture from one of the moms. We should have won that game too, but we lost at the very end. Again, the boys pulled it together and played much better. We were all proud.
Wednesday night called for ice cream.
Thursday's game was bright and early in Flower Mound. If you are counting, that is 9 baseball games in 6 days. Masons team played 5 days in a row. But they played 6 games in 5 days which is much better spread out than these weekend tourneys, just hard on parents to get them there!
Fan Club. (John did get FOMO and left work to see the game) Ha
Mason struggled on Sunday in the tournament (along with his entire team) and then after that, he hit great in the rest of the tournament.
We ended it with a win. Hopefully it will give the boys some confidence heading into Houston next weekend!
After a ridiculously long week of baseball, it was time to relax yesterday!
Whew. Im tired just writing all that. Brody plays his last tournament this weekend and then Mason the next. It is all coming to an end. We aren't going to know what to do with ourselves!!!!
