Father's Day was last Sunday and what a day it was. We had rain and lightening in the forecast all day. DFW is huge and our fields were actually an hour away in Mesquite. All other tourneys ended up being cancelled but Mason's was just delayed and delayed.
But we still wanted to celebrate this guy because he is the VERY BEST.
New clothes and grill stuff. Typical Fathers Day gifts. Ha
We sat around waiting and waiting so we decided to go to the new Scheel's store in the Colony.
It. Is. Amazing.
It has to be the largest sports store.
They have everything including an aquarium and a ferris wheel.
So for Father's Day, John ended up buying both boys new bats. Ha
Tournament ended up still being on. They just moved the pool play games to Sunday with no bracket play, but we had drawn the late pool play games. That mean that with all the lightening delays, our new start time for our last game was 10:00pm.....yup you read that right.
Since we had to wait for two games to be played, some of the parents took the kids to McAlisters to get out of the heat.
The little brothers watching the game behind home plate.
These kids played and played allllll day. They were exhausted.
Mason has been doing pretty well at the plate.
He got on all 5 at bats this day.
Winner winner.
Dirtbags just waiting around for the 10:00 game to start.
Best Dad and Coach ever.
The little brothers got a bit tired, they jumped in the back of a car to play Super Mario.
We ended up wining the second game too. They played so great. We needed to allow just a few less runs to win but we got 4th out of 24 teams. This team has been playing great together and it has been fun to watch. Mason hit a double to being in some runs to tie the second game. He stole home on a wild pitch to win the game.
This picture was taken at 12:30 in the morning!!!!!
(And I had to work the morning the next days and boys had to come with me.)

We did get an afternoon in after work to swim a little last week.
Had a friendly neighborhood game of waffle ball in the backyard.
John was the ump.
I worked Wednesday and Thursday so the boys went to Sarahs.
They had chickfila at the pool. Spoiled. Ha.
And little Jack was begging to play in the backyard with the big kids!
Looked out the window to see this. He NEVER wears shirts!
We are done working Fridays at my job. We were finally able to attend a Friday Funday at the pool with friends.
And a lot of cookies....
Both boys had tourneys this past weekend. Mason and John were headed to Corsicana while Brody and I were in Haltom City.
Since Brody's tournament was in Tarrant County, we had to wear masks (well anyone over the age of 10) It was sooooo humid so that stunk. Thankfully it was cloudy and windy though.
They went 2-0 Saturday and played great.
Brody hit some bones and went 6-6 and had a couple of great catches in outfield.
His dinner choice was Braums.
We got home and our neighbor came over. Mason's team had the late game again so they had hotel rooms in Corsicana. Brody, Owen, and myself spent the night watching Mason's game on the live stream!
His teammate laid down a great bunt and Mason came home.
After the game was over, I took Brody and Owen to the pool for a 30 minutes quick swim.
He was pumped he got to sleep in the bed with me. He loves to sneak in our bed.
And boy was he comfortable, he slept until after 8!
Ready for Day 2.
To win the tourney, we would've had to play 4 games on Sunday!
Hanging with his bed friend.
We ended up tying the first game (last pool play game) and then won the first bracket play game. So we had to sit around for 3 hours before the next game started! The field were pretty nice and we had tents set up being outfield. We ordered pizza and may have snuck a little beer in. Ha.
Watching the game before us.
Dads doing the same. Ha.
John and Mason ended up finishing their tourney and driving straight to our ballfields.
Masons team got on the "bad" side of the bracket play. They did well though, just didn't end like they had hoped. It happens sometimes! Mason had a GREAT weekend at the plate and fielding though.
Scorekeepers
Little bros took over though.
We played AWESOME the last two games and won them both!
Nothing like a 7 year old tourney to have the championship game at 8:30pm!!! Ha.
They won first place!!! So awesome.
They were PUMPED.
I am off ALL week this week! It was VERY much needed.
The boys and I slept in (poor John had to go into work) and then we hung out by the pool.
We also invited our friends to the pool yesterday. I made lunch and brought it down in a cooler. Brody was super happy to have his best friends there.
Which means he was super silly too. Ha.
Mason held my phone as we packed up to walk back home and took a selfie with Brody. =)
Also, our garage door broke. Just broke. Ha.
New door is being installed today thankfully. We are headed to Memphis soon and need the door to close!
The boys have been busy with baseball but clearly still living their best life.
Sleepover last night
We are headed to Memphis for a quick trip for the 4th soon!
