Life is a Circus

 I haven't posted in about a week of what we have been doing around here.  We have been busy busy busy.  We weren't home any night last week.  

We did have some good snuggle times.  

Last weekend I had brunch with the girls.  "The Wives Club" is a good name.  =)  We had the best time and if our husbands would let us, would do it every Saturday!   Ha. 

Tuesday night we did our taxes and then met at my parents house to see my cousin Josh.  He was leaving for another few months to a tropical destination.  Such a fun life!  Uncle Wayne also came in town for the week before he left, so it was a double bonus!

This child.  This child.  He stuffed his sock in his mouth on the car ride to school.  

Grandma Reba came over and delivered a chocolate pie.

Saturday morning we stopped by Perkins.  We keep this place in business.  

We met Robert, Becca, and the kids at the circus Saturday afternoon.   Mason has been asking to go for at least 6 months.  When I heard it was coming, I knew he would he thrilled.  He kept asking if there would be acrobats there.  

You can hardly see (my settings were off on my camera) but Robert took Reese and Mason to ride the elephants.  

Everyone was into it for the first 10 minutes or so.

Including me apparently. 

Then it got real.  In a matter of moments, Brody, Anderson, and Griffin were not impressed, sweating, screaming, and had thrown their pacis under the bleachers.  How does that happen?!?!

Becca and I left with the three of them.  In their defense, it was super hot in there.  The moment we walked outside all three of their moods changed.  It may have taken close to an hour to heard them to the car, but we made it and headed to Target.  =)

Target is such a magical place.  

John and Robert stayed with Reese and Mason until the end of the show.  It ended up lasting three hours which would've been insane to think they could've all made it anyways.  It was still a fun day with family and we all had a good time.  My boys were certainly worn out. 

After Brody woke up from his nap on Sunday, I noticed he has dark brown/reddish gooey stuff flowing out of his ear.  Like a TON of it.  (I will refrain from posting a picture of it.)  So off to the doctor we went.  

The doc walked in and immediately thought it was ear wax, especially since he had no fever.  Well one look into the other ear and he changed his thought.  He has nasty double ear infections.  It's crazy that he isn't feeling bad or running a fever.  He said the other ear is about to drain any moment now.  

The purpose of the tubes (placed TWO months ago) is to keep the infections away since antibiotics don't respond well to his ear infections.  We are the lucky ones who, for some reason, it still happened!  Fingers crossed this doesn't continue.  

But as you can see, he is doing well.  

And has also learned how to open and close shut doors.  There will be no more trapping him in a room.  

It was 70 degrees and beautiful yesterday and as I type this, it is freezing rain and sleeting outside.  It is even thundering which seems crazy.  Schools are already cancelled tomorrow as well as my work.  Usually, this would all be exciting but John has chemo tomorrow.  It is his first day of his last round and we do NOT want to have it go into the next week!  We are praying they don't have to close his oncologist's office.

But Mason is going to be so happy in the morning.  I guess he is old enough to understand the excitement of school being out now.  He also went to bed with a flashlight in case the power went out.  =)
