Kid is obsessed with his Rangers jersey and was to wear it to school every day.
We have been counting down the days until Field Day around here. Their PE teachers do such a great job with it. They have been preparing for all the races and events for weeks. I've been ready for Field Day, so they could stop telling me what place they got in gym every day. Lol.
It was the entire day. I ran back and forth between grades/events.
Got third in all of 3rd grade for the mile run. He jogged the entire mile with a smile on his face.....didn't get that from me.
This one got first in Kinder for the 3/4 mile run.
What I got out of Field Day is that both of my kids are super competitive. I mean look at Brody's face here.....neither of their classes won tug of war but they sure tried.
They had chocolate popsicles....
Stiker ball
What I didn't know was that Brody is very good at hula hooping. HAHA
I checked them out a tiny bit early so we could hit the road to Oklahoma City. It is a 3 hour car ride and after all that sun and running around....they needed some naps.
We ALL went to OKC. Emma wasn't very good last time we had someone watch her, so we brought her with. It worked out perfect really.
Dinner before our first game Friday night.....at 9pm! So late.
Warming up.
Watching the game before.
Mason played a ton of 2nd this weekend and did great. He has learned so much from that first tournament we played in.
But as a whole, man, our team was not on. Our first game was tough to watch. Over throw and over throw and over throw. It was not good. But hey, they are 9/10 years old. It happens. It was so hard to watch bc they were all so upset out there!
But good thing about baseball is you get to play a whole new game the next day.
And we were in a hotel which is a plus. Ha. The kids loved waking up and eating breakfast together and just hanging out.
Representing with our Ole miss tent.
We did a little better Saturday....but not much. Just an off weekend for us.
Third game was much improved but we ran out of pitchers by then really.
Brody loves these tournaments. He watches the game so close.
And if he isn't watching, it's because he and the other little brothers have found an empty field and they have their own game going on.
After baseball games on Saturday = swimming at the pool
So. Much. Fun.
The hotel was perfect for us (and the other baseball team there). We were able to grill and eat right there next to the pool.
And then when it got a little chilly, we sat by the fire.
(FYI: Mason had asked to go to bed by this point, Brody was still up and partying)
Our last game was Sunday. We had lost the first three and knew we would not make it out of pool play, but they boys were ready to play.
These two have so much fun together. Got matching shirts and sporting the Dirtbags hats.
Mason playing 2nd there again. He was able to get a few outs over the weekend and was proud of himself.
He has also been struggling at the plate the last two tournaments. He tried a friends' bat at practice last week and did much better. We told him if he used it in this last game and did well, we would buy the bat. Go figure, he crushed the ball out to center and hit a hard hit ball the second at bat. They were able to get him out at first, but it was a good shot too. So we had to buy the dang bat. Ha.
They went 1-3 which was NOT what they were hoping but I think they learned a lot. I know they had a ton of fun together. Didn't turn out as we had hoped but super proud of all of them.
Stopped in Normal for lunch before heading home.
We have now seen so many new colleges since moving to TX.
Out like a light.
They have these massive windmills for miles and miles in Oklahoma. I've never seen such a thing. The pictures do it no justice. They are HUGE.
What a weekend.
