Mason Takes the Grove

Mason's school had Football Friday so Brody dressed for the occasion too.  

He actually wasn't feeling well and turns out he has ear infections.

Mom picked the boys up from school Friday and John and I met her over there to get them.  First they had some playing to do across the street with Brinkley....I guess they decided to let the girl do some work.  =)

Brody was feeling better after his meds and was enjoying watermelon.  He had so much in his mouth in this picture.  He couldn't figure out how to get the other piece in.  

Brinkley gave up and Mr. John pulled them.  

Ole Miss had our first home game Saturday.  We aren't going to be able to go to many more games and since we were playing an easier team, we thought it was a good one to take Mason to.  

We only took Mason since we would be gone all day long.  Brody went to my parents house but not without Ole Miss gear on.  He cheered us on.  

We got to Oxford around noon, but the game didn't start until 6pm.  We brought a football for Mason and he immediately had his Daddy and Mr. Ben playing with him.  

It was so hot all day until we got into the game.  I was miserable and I know Mason had to have been, but you wouldn't have known it.

It is hard to just sit there in the tents the whole time, so we walked around the Grove and headed to the stage.  All these boys were playing football and Mason was amazed.

Finally Mason got pretty tired and I let him sit down and play with my phone.  I knew if he could push through and make it until the pregame started, he would be good.  

Like Father, Like Son. 

First up is the Walk of Champions.  Mason kept covering John's eyes.  That's how he held on.  Ha

Melissa's Dad, The Captain, was great with Mason.  He was telling him all about the cape.  

After the walk is the band playing in the Grove....my most favorite thing ever.  Instead of watching the band, we stood in front of the cheerleaders and Rebelettes.  Melissa and Kelley took him up to sit in the front.  He was loving life.  

At the end, they get the kids up to clap and dance.  Amy and Kelsey were so nice to grab him up there. He was a tad shy but still had the biggest grin on his face.  

So happy.  

Then we were off to the game.

He was very into the game and thought "the white team" aka the other team were being mean for pushing our guys down.

I love these pictures.  He took saying Ole Miss (after the announcer says First Down) as a serious task.  Here he is yelling Ole Miss instead of smiling.  =)

Mr. Sandy, aka The Captain, let Mason wear his cape.  It was a big honor.  Mason kept saying he "couldn't eblieve it".  

If you look closely, you can see the people around their seats have been sitting there for a while too.  They also understood the importance of the cape and thought it was hilarious. 

We were winning by a lot and decided to leave at halftime.  When Mason told me he couldn't wait until bedtime...I figured it was time to go!
